The project Folsom50 explores the legacy of Johnny Cash’s prison concerts by recreating the “At Folsom Prison” album inside. In 2018, Luther’s Boots traveled to eleven of the fourteen prisons in Oregon to play a version of the Folsom songs and to contextualize them through stories of Cash and his work with prison reform. The concerts were repeated for audiences outside to draw attention to the plight of incarcerated men and women in Oregon.
